Janice, affirmative on the serious poopiness <g>. Tech-stock sell-off across the board. >the retail sales number: we'll be unhappy if Christmas stuff looks bad, and unhappy if it looks good.< That's what it often seems like, especially after a good advance. In other words, virtually anything can be an excuse for a profit-taking sell-off. IMO, we can blame MSFT, INTC, DELL and CPQ for triggering today's profit-taking. These have had the largest, most irrationally exuberant run-ups lately. Satisfying to see them suffer for once. <g>. Dwight
