Re the cable access ruling.

So far, the ruling applies only to Portland. In an odd way, this might turn out to be an advantage for Allen (and maybe even GNET). I suspect AT&T would now be more willing to sell or trade the Portland system to Allen whose companies could find unique benefits in owning both the Portland Trailblazers and the system on which many of their games are shown.

Even though they might have to share the system, GNET-supplied content might still get special access to a system owned by Allen.

(And by the way, AOL might have "won" but they've shown little inclination to actually make use of the high-speed access on the west coast. DSL lines in Portland, Seattle, and other big cities served by USWest or GTE have been open to ISPs for nearly a year. AOL does not take advantage of that.)
