Alex, thanks for the info... As Scott mentioned in an earlier post, ADSL is not a threat to CAWS' primary pay-tv services. While ADSL may be capable of supporting digital TV, ADSL does not have the bandwidth to support a significant number of TV channels that would compete effectively against DBS, landline or wireless cable. On the other hand, I am beginning to view ADSL as a very serious competitor against CAWS' potential secondary revenue stream (wireless Internet access) in terms of penetrating the mass markets. As a consumer, I find the idea of not having to tie up my primary phone line (or getting a second phone line, for that matter) much more appealing. With CAWS' setup, I may be able to achieve blinding wireless downlink speeds, but will still be relying on a phone line for the return path. CAWS may very well be more appealing to commercial and educational institutions. I believe the bottom line in penetrating the mass markets will be the costs to the consumer and the time to market. Undoubtedly, 1997 will be a critical year for CAWS. -- Still a believer.
