I don't know the precise details but I do have a rough understanding of the timing difference. Generally, it is because the U.S. and Canadian brokers have long had different procedures for handling splits. The Canadian markets start trading post-split after the record date of a split, even thought the payment or delivery date can be 7-10 days away. The U.S. practice is to trade post-split on or about the devlivery date, rather than the record date. In this case, I'm betting the delivery date is the 10th or 11th.

If anyone has additional - or more correct - info, please let me know.
