Jack, Thanks for responding. I am very happy with the trade, but I also am bugged by something that happened on the trade. Maybe you or anyone out there can clear it up for me. I do not have real time quotes and was watching the tape on CNBC. I saw a trade or two in the low 131 area. 131 1/8, as I recall. Put my order in at 132 to be sure I got it. Answer was that last sale was 131 7/8. So entered order to buy at 131 7/8. Sale was completed and I was informed that it had gone thru at 131 and that fees and license were 875 bucks. I was delighted to get the stuff, but not happy about the 875 fees. Sent them an email fairly quickly Have received a thank- you note for the email, but no answer so far. This outfit is supposed to make a trade for 25 bucks on any trade up to 1500 or 2500 shares, I believe. Right now I feel that the trade was actually made at 131 and that things were moving very fast at the time that my trade hit the fan. I do not trade much, but have always had the urge to do so. But one needs the right equipment. I definitely do not have it and am very tight. But this deal shows that I was just pure lucky, since 15 or 20 minutes can often make a great big difference! I would like to hear from you and any others who can tell me better what has happened here. I think they got to me on paper, anyhow, for 850. At the same time, am happy to be in. Couldn't sleep this morning thinking about it and decided to get it off my chest. This thread thing is the best thing I have run across. Made a try at the Money Talk thing on Prodigy, but so far, unsuccessful. Will drive 300 plus miles today to be with my daughter and some grandchildren. Be back friday or saturday. Made a foray into futures trading quite a few years ago, and saw that someone was getting a quarter of a point ( or more) on every trade I made. This reminds me a little of that. But at least I have a few more rights and also am a little older (and tougher!). Have a great Christmas! Ira |
