I've done business with MER for years. They are overpriced, and their Mutual Fund selection is lousy with only high loads and management fees. My broker is my bud and I get IPO's, for that reason my long term stuff remains with them. Timing is everything and they saved their butts with this move long term. EGRP will always be one to be reckoned with as will Schwab. The addition of the bank will put them in good stead for the 21st century. Reminds me of AOL, and the naysayers said the all the same things about AOL. JMO
