There is AOL IM software for Linux - look at the 2nd "myths" page I posted earlier. It's called GAIM. AOL also had an open Java client which has now been yanked as a result of the Microsoft feuding over IM.

I'm not aware of an AOL login client. When that appears, I'll know that Linux has truly reached the masses. :-)
