Republicans have to stop acting as if the "market" is some pristine state of nature that is not subject to active shaping.

Of course its subject to all sorts of shaping. But that is an "is", not an "aught". The fact that "active shaping" occurs, isn't an argument that it should occur.

Also (unfortunately) few Republicans have a very strong and consistent opposition to "active shaping". On the whole they may be less exited about it than Democrats, but they accept it, often support it, and sometimes are the leading force behind some of it.
