The sad thing is... it will take us the same time to repay
the cummulative trade deficit as it took to accumulate it...
10-11 years. And, nobody said this thing can't go into
surplus. So, there is no stop to the dollar slide,
fundamentally.
Of course, the good thing is... we don't have to repay in the
same dollars as we borrowed. But is that really such a good
thing? The living standard will have to suffer before it's
all over.
