Big Movers in the Stock Market

NEW YORK, Oct 26, 2000 (AP Online via COMTEX) -- Stocks that were moving
substantially or trading heavily Thursday on the New York Stock Exchange and the
Nasdaq Stock Market.

NYSE

Anheuser-Busch Cos., up $2.56 at $42.19.

The leading beer maker reported higher earnings late Wednesday.

Fluor Corp, down $1.88 at $31.25

The engineering and construction company lowered its fourth quarter earnings
outlook.

AT&T, down $1 at $22.38

Investors digest news that the telecom giant will split itself into four
separate units, abandoning an ambitious strategy to provide all-in-one
communications services.

Nortel Networks, down $1.56 at $43.31.

The Canadian telecom equipment maker declined on worries about a revenue
shortfall.

NASDAQ

Lernout & Hauspie, down $2.25 at $5.68.

The Wall Street Journal reports that the company the company's claim that it
received multimillion dollar license payments isn't supported by statements
filed with Belgium's central bank.

Nextel Communications, down $7.44 at $28.69.

First Union cuts its rating of the mobile phone operator to buy from strong buy.

Oxford Health, up $2.69 at $32.75

Third quarter earnings beat analysts' expectations, and the company said it
expects net income next year of more than $250 million.

Gasonics International, up $3.06 at $17.56

Novellus Systems Inc. announced that it would acquire Gasonics, which makes
chemicals used in the semiconductor manufacturing process, for $347 million.
