<<then remember these shorts have to cover at the first sign of success........quickly>> Not if the short interest is due to strategic partners (airtouch, etc.) borrowing stock and shorting it to hedge their illiquid investment in the Limited Partnership. HMMMMM, now there is a scary (but realistic) thought.
