In the stock market anyway enthusism can boom prices up or down in irrational ways. But however irrational the reasons for the prices going where they go, the prices are real enough, as are the consequences that follow. Or are we talking about different things? I don't usually disagree with anyone on this list. Even on the wilder more conspiratorial things I often don't disagree -- I see the logic, but can't accept the conclusions because some conclusions are too difficult to accept. Knowing about the consensus trance (great phrase! Thank-you, James Howard Kunstler) is not to break free from it. - Charles
