I am not sure when was the last time you checked on MPEG market share. SGS Thomson might have had a significant market share many years ago, but I don't know. At this moment, C-cube is the clear leader in DVD players, set-top boxes, and PC hardware MPEG decoding cards. Even for MPEG encoding, C-cube is probably number one, though this is a very niche market.
