Speaking of which, I'm a cautious bull too. I think the
financial economy in the US has to collapse, and the
share of manufacturing (10% currently) will need to grow.
So, once all the stuff hits the fan and stocks are
cheap again, especially if the dollar declines significantly
from here, I'll be looking for opportunities to invest
in US manufacturing companies. For example, has the US auto
industry seen it's worst yet? Probably not. But will all US
automotive industry cease to exist? Hardly. If we do
have a currency crisis, the growth of manufacturing will be
in double digits. We have seen nothing but a very long bear market
in US manufacturing. Note - GM earnings are improving. But
the stock is not any higher than where it was in 1965. How
much exactly did the autos cost then? -g-
