Most Americans want 20,000 troops home by Xmas, or more. Now that Bush has given them a government and a vote and has given them two years and billions of our money to get their act together, it's their country, so let them have it back.

I believe we should draw down 20,000 troops every three months from now on, more or less, putting the pressure on the Iraqis to step up to the plate, or else.

Bush remains stubborn about stayiong the course, but his course has been a dishonest one from the get-go. Even those likie Kerry who supported disarming Saddam warmed Bush of the dangers of rushing in, going it alone, snubbing allies, not giving inspections time and not planning for the post-invasion peace. Bush's failures on all these issues are legion. Of course GW is no war expert, in fact he's a total amateur, so the real blame falls on Cheney, who should have known better.
