Gold. Maybe though if you had to flee the country and bribe government officials to do that, you would use gold coins or jewels or something. My relatives told us they used cash in those bad European days. I could envision me suffering in a economic collapse: Hard to see me trying to flee the country (USA) though. Lot of public hate of groups of people of differing religious/ethnic backgroups nowadays. Maybe undocumented or non citizens here at some risk of being expelled. I don't know. Some gold stocks for me anyway (because they look cheap; not for "insurance").
