I had someone answer one of my posts by highlighting what fun it is to go shooting "varmints" well some "varmints" are very destructive..........woodchucks for example. I had one digging burrows all over my property. After one cut a buried electrical line that fed my outside garage, I had to plug him with a 22. Many farmers welcome varmint shooters to thin out the woodchuck population. I agree though......once you get past woodchucks........shooting varmints is a whole lot harder to rationalize. I know they consider coyotes varmints out west where the populations are very high. I suppose a controlled thinning of the population is reasonable though.
