That's the best goal to have -- being driven internally.

If their goal was to beat Compaq, then what is their goal once they get there? Do they just stop then? (I'm being facetious, but I hope you understand the logic.)

It is more likely that Michael Dell will build the company until it is worth more than Microsoft is to Gates. (Or at least try).

I'm not sure Dell will be able to grow the company that fast in the next 12 years. That's all the time he has -- after that, money won't matter. He will probably still have his likeness all over the globe at that point, as I'm sure he will have facilitated it to a large extent.

But those days are ahead of us.
