Yes I have my own domain, unicus.com do a whois and look it up. I registered it back in 1995, and I have my own POP email address with that domain.

Back in about 1999, 4 years with my awesome email address (nice and short), but then I got e-mailed bombed:
en.wikipedia.org

Had so many emails coming in had to get my guy hosting my site and email to change my address as I could not use it was getting hundreds of emails every couple minutes with no end in sight.

Now I have been using my new email address created in 1999 with almost no problems; I made a mistake of filling out an online form with my email address by the time I found out it was a scam and canceled the form it was too late, I was getting all sorts of spam. That was last year, and the spam has slowed down quite a bit.

I was lucky to get that domain as there are a lot of companies using that name. I will never sell my domain, had offers.

My advice to you, is get a cool domain name and then set up a POP email account with your domain.

I changed ISPs about 10 years ago and the only thing I have to change is the outgoing email server. My personal email address will never change no matter what ISP I go with. Just make sure you renew your domain every year.

Create your own contact card with your email address, Facebook account, phone and mobile numbers just like you would with a business card and give that out when someone wants your email address and phone number. Thats what I do.
