Don, The PV of the president 100 years from now is pretty low. What if he accepts the diamond and resigns next year? Now you have a precedence for all new presidents to receive a million dollar diamond, as well as a salary. The next president signs a lifetime slave contract, gets a diamond, attracts a beautiful mistress and dies in a Viagra-induced heart attack.
