I agree with you: FWIW, I see no particular acceleration of economic activity neither in Germany (especially not Germany) nor in France (especially not France) or Italy or the Benelux countries. What I do see is continued steady growth at a subdued pace. Only Spain and the U.K are really stronger than the rest, maybe Portugal also, but they are halfway in the U.S. already <g>. Don't know about the Scandinavian countries, though.

As for IT upgrades/investments, I see them continuing at the current pace, which is quite strong. In Europe the trend is definitely on to invest more in tech than in people adding to the payroll, wherever possible. I don't see no acceleration of present IT spending patterns, more a bastion of steadiness.
