I feel compelled to state for full and fair disclosure: Information on message boards can be misleading, wrong and even downright stupid. Personal DD is a must.

I like the price to sales ratio of BSX vs. historical valuations. Also if you plot BSX against GDT or MDT on almost any comparison it looks less expensive. BTW STJ is the only one that comes close to BSX currently.

Tobin's mandate is to get the gross and operating margins up. If he can accomplish this task, the EPS would be leveraged over the bigger company. Internally generated rising earnings on top of a growing revenue line can spurt the reported EPS numbers. Most analysts I have read peg BSX at $1.25 next year (even after recent downgrades). That is off apx. $1.00 for this year. Also BSX is carrying apx. $100,000,000 (annualized)in amortization charges which equates to about $.22 per share.

Lots could go wrong. Lots! and BSX has shown an ability to goof up - Regardless at $18.50 there is a lot of discounting going on . . . . . . . .

Again I am hoping that Tobin can work his magic at BSX like he did at Biogen and that no other problems crop up (that is a BIG assumption). You would have to get comfortable with these and other issues in order to make an investment decision.

P.S. BSX is up 7/8 ths today.
