These days I don't think that the people of any nation would stand for a nuclear showdown unless it was a response to a very obvious and serious aggression against them, something that I don't think would happen in the case of Russia or China. Maybe the most worrying thing is that if the US seriously threatens several countries at once, they are increasing the odds that one will fight back back in a very covert, terroristic way seriously damaging the economy or government stability, and they may be unable to even know who to blame. Many countries have now been threatened as "tyrannies" and the US is also making China and Russia very uncomfortable. I'm sure that China or Russia could pull off a terrorist event undetected if they wanted to -- they wouldn't even need their own citizens to know about it. Other countries may have capabilities to do something very serious also, and this would be more likely than any direct nuclear showdown (I'm not predicting this would happen, just think that it is a possibility which becomes more and more likely the more aggressive US foreign policy turns out to be). My profile's favourite quote is "He whom many fear, has himself many to fear." which perhaps explains why threatening foreign countries may open a can of worms for the US.

Yes, that was me! I can't argue with an 80% increase after holding it only two days. Actually, southern Utah is one of my favourite places (for a vacation at least), and I even like the iron mines.
