Depends on who you listen to. If you listen to politicians (and the press) you are correct, but if you go over to the public debt treasury site you will find that our federal deficit (year over year) is growing at about twice the amount that the politicians claim. Darn treasury dudes just can't add I guess. This is on top of all the monetizing that the fed has been up to (8%+ per year rate now). These dudes can't add either I guess.
