If you look at the comments in context, we are arguing that CBS news reports are tantamount to presenting testimony to a public tribunal.

I gather that your point is that nobody should ever believe what they see on TV, and that point is well taken.

But if a lawyer knowingly presented false testimony to a public tribunal in Virginia, they'd be disbarred, assuming the Bar Counsel was willing to pursue it, which they will if, say, a judge or a well respected member of the community will go to bat for it. Even knowingly making a false argument is enough.

You can't even argue that a defendant did not commit a crime if you know he did. You can only argue the law.
