what's a bigger bargain right now, csco or ntap? i may put in a limit order at 95 for the first, 39 for the second.
I understand and respect your opinion about "pop investing books." Let me say just one more thing and then we will let it pass. I mentioned 3 books by Moore. The first 2 were NOT books about investing. They were books about high-tech product cycles and marketing aimed at tech companies. The third outlines an investment strategy based on the product/market phenonena discussed in the first two. That third book, "The Gorilla Game", was co-authored by Paul Johnson and Tom Kippola, a pair of "Wall Street analysts". As far as the "efficient markets model", I used to believe as you do, but no longer. Their is a psychological force and a manipulative force at work in the market. As we gain insight into those forces and into individual industries and stocks, we may be able to use those forces to our advantage. In the long-term, efficient markets prevail, but in the short term the forces are very influential. BWDIK
Anyway, which is a bigger bargain, CSCO or NTAP? If I had some money to invest, I would probably have to split it between the two. Your limit order strategy looks good to me. I think both of these stocks are being pushed down by the market in general and will perform well this year. |
