Moom, you walk to the bus stop, catch the bus to the train station [not to central London], get the underground at the other end, or hop a bus, walk, etc.

I agree though, that commuting in London is a serious pain in the neck [unless you get really organized about it and live close to the right transport system which takes you to the right place].

I have been in Rangataua for a couple of weeks. It's the world headquarters of Zenbu zenbu.net.nz Population of Rangataua right now is about 100. During the snow/ski season it zooms up as people move into their holiday houses. There are dogs, horses, pigs, children, countryside, zero shops, no footpaths [just the middle of the road].

Now I'm back in Auckland.

As cyberspace develops, I expect there will be devolution to quality of life in places like Nelson, Rangataua and other places where life is good, commuting is from one room to another, people are humans, there's quiet at night, without police helicopters, motorways, police and ambulance sirens, violent thugs throwing bottles, traffic jams, road rage, and other carnage.

There's little reason to pile up in a 3D heap when living virtually with Victorian Virtuous Values.
