This is pretty funny. And begs the question; how many other documents has CBS and 60 minutes forged in the past.

Kerry Bush-Bashing Forgeries Amateur

The hysteria within the Kerry campaign is starting to show. Dan Rather's production of obviously fake documents in a desperate attempt to try to bash George W. Bush has left Rather with mud on his face and the Kerry campaign reeking of the stench of foul political dirty tricks. It now seems likely we'll see a lot more of this before this campaign is over.

Now that Clinton operatives (Clintonistas) have taken over the Kerry campaign, we can expect to see the bottom of the garbage dumpster trolled for new campaign material. This shouldn't require too much effort, given the polling trends that show the entire Kerry campaign headed for the bottom of the dumpster. Don't know how much the Kerry muckrakers expect to dredge up about George W. Bush, but you can be sure most (if not all) of what you hear or read about is the figment of the raging mind of a Clintonista, including forged documents offered by CBS as authentic.

Of the entire radical left media, CBS News has bubbled to the top of the cesspool of innuendo, lies, distortions, and creative news writing that has become the trademark of the leftwing news media. So it should be no surprise that the chief hawker of CBS newsbabble is none other than the old curmudgeon himself, Dan Rather. Rather's "interview" for 60 Minutes in which he purports to present newly discovered documents showing George W. Bush was not a model member of the Texas Air National Guard during the Vietnam War era is a classic example of both irrelevance and falsification that astute observers have come to expect from "the usual suspects."

While ABC News was one of the first and most vocal of those who raised serious doubts about the authenticity of Rather's "documents," there has been a flood of other experts and family members of the alleged author (deceased) of these "documents" who contend there is as much chance those documents are authentic as there is we'll discover a tropical ocean on the moon.

Some of the more obvious mistakes in the forgery include (but are not limited to):

Documents' typeface is "Times New Roman," a PC-era word processor font not available with typewriters used by the Texas Air National Guard in the Vietnam War era.
The purported author did not use a typewriter and had no typing skills.

The signature block of the purported author is atypical of the signature block he always used with such paperwork.
The letterhead of the documents is unlike all other letterheads of documents in the authentic Bush files.
The documents' proportional font, even bottom line, and special font for "th" are characteristics only available with modern PC word processors.
You get the picture.

Now, you'd think even a raving Clintonista operative desperate for any traction that will elevate Kerry would have enough knowledge and common sense not to make such gross errors in fabricating documents. But it seems the hubris of Kerry operatives is uncontained by even these elementary considerations.

If you're going to lie and cheat, you'd better be good at it.

Now, as an example of how easy it is to fabricate documents lacking the obvious mistakes of the "60 Minutes" documents, I've created a doctored version of one of the limited documents available on the Kerry website. The altered document creates an entirely different picture of Kerry's handpicked documents he chose to make public (though the Kerry website lists quite a few documents, missing are key documents that veterans groups claim show he was an unfit soldier ... unlike Bush, Kerry refuses to make all his documents public). The real and faked documents are in Adobe Acrobat format (pdf).

The document I've altered that has none of the obvious errors committed by Kerry's forgers in creating the alleged Bush documents for "60 Minutes" is at kerrydoc1.pdf (596 kb). webcommentary.com

The original document found on the Kerry website used as the basis for the altered document is at kerrydoc.pdf (596 kb). webcommentary.com

You'd think those who make lying and distortions a trademark of their existence would at least develop the skills to do their dirty work in a way that would make detection much more difficult. Yet we get the rank amateur efforts put forth as legitimate by CBS News. This instance demonstrates the desperation that has overtaken the Kerry campaign.

It's time to wake up, America. Kerry is little more than a traitorous anti-war propagandist whose lies and chicanery have elevated him to prominence in the Democrat Party. It is the duty of decent Americans to see to it that he gets no higher.
