Trading with 28.8, can be done. I have done it. Last week I went with a shotgun modem from diamond - SupraSonic II. diamondmm.com $161.00

So now I use two lines and add and drop the second line when i want it. The caveat is finding a local ISP that supports this.

I did find one and they charge me $25 a month for the whole deal.

If you get going with a 28.8 connection and are semi - bandwidth conscious you can get by, there are times when a stock goes completely insane and you will get smoked on a 28.8 modem.

There is also another product called Web Ramp that another trader uses and swears by.

Oh, I never tried to trade on a 28.8 and run chat and a browser on the same connection. I think if you go with two or three lines you can do just fine and end up spending less than isdn.

Your box, p133/48m, will handle this stuff no problem.

VPN is overkill.

Good Luck!
