John Galt may not be Matthew, but Matthew is playing at being John Galt. Not very well, though. In fact, Matthew, you are starting to give John Galt a bad name. I suspect some of us who actually got a lot out of Ayn Rand are wondering why now, because you have so totally ruined the experience for us. I don't think I want to have much in common with you, except a love of ideas and a sometimes wry and interesting sense of humor.
John Galt, if I remember correctly, liked blue collars and touted individual achievement. You on the other hand, Matthew, seem to have so much hatred of women and so much elitism in your spirit that I suspect you have been badly mistreated by a woman at some point, and either have been made to feel inadequate and stupid by a parent, or have been such a perfect and bright and precocious little boy that you were spoiled to the point that your character and your sense of compassion didn't develop properly.
Oh, I know you dislike what you perceive as my amateur psychological analysis, so I'll make you a deal. Stop harrassing the women over here, saying things in general that are degrading to women and being so vulgar, and I'll stop analyzing you. Oh, it would be wonderful if you acknowledged a real feeling once in awhile, instead of just arrogant posturing, but I realize life isn't perfect.
What is it with you, Matthew? You seem to be taunting Miss Penni now, after giving up on me (I hope). Your email erotica posting was so gross and offensive to women that it was removed by the webmaster. I still remember some really interesting things you've said, and a valuable contribution you made to SI by providing a forum where heady intellectualism--free will vs. determinism, all those billiard balls and beard hairs--can be debated endlessly by friends of mine who are truly smart, because they are open-minded, willing to admit faults in their arguments, and not condescending to women who may have different intellectual skills but who provide wonderfully warm and positive contributions, i.e., balance and feminine intuitive energy, to male intellectuality.
Anyway, women hold up half the sky, Matthew, and need to be valued as individuals, not used like blow-up dolls. I guess guys like you are why the concept that women need men like fish need bicycles ever came into common usage.
Hoping to hear real feelings and respectful comments about women from you in the future!!
