I couldn't agree with you more Tim. The 120 channels of video delivery is not going to get CAWS to the promised land. The satellite dish is eating that market alive and VOD will be served well by ADSL, later by VDSL and finally the latest fiber transmission technologies.

In my view, the only chance this company has to first survive and then prosper is to focus almost entirely on internet access (start wearing buttons that say "its the INTERNET stupid!").

Convert almost everything to digital technology

Continue to offer the 30 or so TV channels you have been offering to your existing subscribers maintaining the base revenue stream

Dedicate the additional BW gained by the conversion to digital and compression technologies to additional Mbps-class ONE-WAY download transmission ala Hughes DirecPC. Wake up, TODAY DirecPC gives you 400Kbps one-way downloads for $40 per month with a 21 inch dish and transmitting from orbit high above the earth ($600 down for modem and dish).

Get the word out that you are not clueless about your future and start doing something with all those wireless rights before your technology gets passed.

Tim you have hit the nail on the head with your "who cares about 120 channels" comment when VOD is the issue. ADSL will happen probably as soon as 98. CAWS needs to get out of the gate sooner with MMDS and establish presence. Forget the 2-way, focus on 1-WAY ( the baby learns how to walk before he/she tries to run). Transforming CAWS into an internet company comes with the responsibility of getting bussiness done in internet time and, unfortunately for shareholders, so far CAWS management has not delivered.

Penny stock or double digits? 97 is the year. If they don't get their act together the market will zap'em out in 97.
