Yes, there is some life left on the Prodigy Internet bulletin boards yet, with something like 272 registered members in the Money Talk area, and that number has been steadily rising for the past month and a half.
Mel is there, but he is different now that it is not a "private club" and anyone with ISP access can read the boards... more peaceful-like. A lot of other old familiar names are there also, but many never came back once they left. It's hard to believe that Prodigy was once the leader in bulletin board communication, but the management there has tended to be pretty stubborn in their ways through the years (and tears), even with many changes at the top. Must be the weather in White Plains, NY! :^)
All I know is they had better listen to me and fix their service connection in the northern New Jersey area, or I will end every post I make anywhere with "Folks, if you live in New Jersey, forget about having Prodigy Internet as your ISP"! Today, I made my points and complaints very clear to them on the phone and if they do not fix it right this time, they will never here the end of it from me. I'm not just going to "go away quietly" after suffering with horrible service for the past six plus months. It's a damn shame that someone like me has to help them get their act together, because they simply do not seem to have the incentive to do it themselves... Other than that and CPQ not responding well to the news last night, everything is just peachy keen! <g> Yogi |
