A lot of people are going to regret dumping their collectible cars----the old clunkers so called.

I found this use of Federal Government money rather strange in a climate of unemployment and people having credit problems with their homes. Who is going to be able to dump their old clunkers and buy new cars?

Focusing on old clunkers----------the move to digital TV has made my rather new TV a klunker.

Before the digital signals, I had perfect reception------I could get all of the late night shows I love---no longer is that true----the shows I get are a hodge podge of garbage.

Thinking there was something wrong-------I chatted with my various friends locally and in various states. Same thing.
the digital signals are unreliable whether they have the conversion boxes or cable systems.

One person------noted that what this is all about is getting people to junk their old TV's that really worked fine before and buy new TV's for the digital.

Then I talked with a friend who has cable tv that includes the telephone service and the internet services.

That conversation opened my eyes further. I learned that if the cable goes out------they have no TV, no telephone and no internet service.

So for me, I am keeping my klunker telephone dial up system for computer and telephone------keeping the independence I enjoy.

Remember how the government handed out coupons for the boxes------digital was to come in February of 2009 but was delayed until July of 09. Lots of hype was on the tv channels, get your government coupons now------and now these same tv stations that were hyping the change to digital can't be received and seen. (What irony.)

The move to digital reception, has prompted me to end a realtionship. I have had a longtime vicarious relationshp with late night show host Craig Ferguson. With the move to digital I found he had disappeared from my life.

To end this relationship smoothly, I sent a love note e-mail to Craig Ferguson ---ending our tv relationship due to "digital"---parting brings such sweet sorrow. ( Yes, I did do that to make a point of his show not being viewable via the new digital in our area.)

Sayonara Craig it was great for a few years----so sorry 'digital'came betwen us.

When these major networks recognize that they are not being seen we will see the next government solution------I don't even want to think about that------will leave that to others.
