The Decennial Cycle at work:

The last time the 200 day MA of BPCOMPQ was rose above 67 (as it has now) was in January of 2004 just 2 months shy of an exact 10 years ago.

The last time SPX spent every trading day of the entire calendar year above it's 200 day MA was 1993, 20 years ago, and unless we drop 200 SPX points between now and 12/31 we will accomplish this feat this year.

Interesting similarities in the persistence of rallies in the 3rd years of 1993, 2003, and now 2013.

1993 was followed by a turbulent 1994 which was driven by rising interest rates and fears of Fed tightening.

2003 was followed by a turbulent 2004 (January-August decline) which was driven by fears of Fed tightening.

fears of Fed tightening and rising interest rates... hmmm. Sound familiar???

Gann's Decennial Cycle alive and well?... We will find out as we enter 2014.
