Well, it is the sort of thing I was trying to discuss with Karen, I guess. I think that one can criticize ideas with the underlying supposition that those that hold them can do so in good faith and intelligently, and that is one thing. On the other hand, one can essentially denounce or ridicule ideas with the implication that one must be acting in bad faith, or neurotic, or moronic to espouse them. As I said, sometimes attacks are warranted, or considered by all parties to be banter, but in most situations, a more tempered approach is preferable........
