You have a point----- perhaps not the right choice of words.

WWII was as I understand was the real point at which we became the leaders of the world. We entered WWII after the bombing of Pearl Harbor bringing energy and hope to Europe to stand against Hitler.

That incident, Pearl Harbor bombing, led us into becoming a leader in that war which ultimately made us the world leader in many arenas.
