FL wasn’t going to be competitive for Obama in November in any case, IMO. MI is another matter, however. There are many plausible electoral-college permutations in which MI makes the difference between winning and losing. In a nutshell, Obama cannot get to 270 EV’s without MI unless he can win OH and an array of small/medium states that Bush carried in 2004. Possible, but not likely.
