Perhaps. Some few might put their money under the mattress. Or invest in bonds earning 1%.

But the vast, vast majority invest their money in productive business ventures, one way or the other. These are people who recognize that their wealth will not survive unless they invest wisely, and most didn't get filthy rich from making lousy decisions

And those investments induce far more productive economic activity than an equivalent amount of taxing and spending.

I have no interest in CRS studies which are destined to produce the intended result. In fact, I far prefer to look at actual events I've witnessed over the years as well as just plain old rational thought.

Any thoughtful person should be able to see that more government spending is ALWAYS a bad thing, economically speaking. Sometimes it is a necessary evil, and you do what you have to do (e.g., war).

But this idea of throwing borrowed and/or taxpayer dollars at every little problem is just nonsense. It has yet to solve any economic problem.
