>>Nope. Probably would have been worse than the Israeli's treatment right now. However, that's not what happened and occupation is never right.<<

The land taken by the Israelis' was exactly right--in response to enemies surrounding them trying to drive them into the sea. If Israel's neighbors had not started a war when Israel was formed, this issue would not exist. If the Arabs had not mobilized for war in '67 or '73, this issue probably would not exist. However, when an Arab country negotiates in good faith, such as what Anwar Sadat did for Egypt, the results speak for themselves. Israel willingly gave back the Sinai, which Egypt lost in a prior war it started. Too bad most of Israel's other neighbors can not exercise the same good faith. Had Arabs willingly tried to encompass peace in the region, the Golan would be back with Syria as would most of the other lands lost in wars. And Arafat totally blew it in 2000 turning down a state and east Jerusalem as its capital. Israel gave that to him on a silver platter and it was still turned down. Unfortunately, this is the kind of people and nations Israel is forced to deal with. In that region, if you do not deal tough with your declared enemies, you lose everything.
