Several strong anomalies found in Santa Clara project

The company has identified several strong, hydrothermal alteration
anomalies on its Santa Clara project, Mendoza, Argentina. The anomalies are
in favourable geology which is interpreted to be the northern extension
Quebrada del Norte target of Minera Andes and Cominco. As a result of the
potential importance of the discovery, Riva has registered a Manifestacion
de Discubrimiento of its target area. The Manifestacion de Discubrimiento
covers approximately 4,000 hectares and is the first step to securing an
official disseminated claim.
Cominco and Minera Andes have been active on the Santa Clara joint venture
and are currently constructing a road to the property. As well, the
companies have scheduled a 2000m reverse-circulation drilling program to
commence in April 1997.
