Beacon Light Mining (BLMG) this time last year was issuing press releases concerning a joint mining venture in China. By January '98, the venture had been abandoned and they had zero assets. Three months later voila they're Beacon Light Holding Corp. (BLHG) and in the plastics business with a joint venture in (you guessed it) China.

They listed a Mr. Richard Verdiramo as "director of marketing". (see the bottom of this post)

Two "investment" web sites strongly recommended them. One of them still does.

However, a little checking reveals something pretty important.

checkdomain.com

The administrative, technical and zone contact for the "investment" site is none other than Mr. Richard Verdiramo, the BLHG Director of Marketing. The same thing was true for the other "investment" site

checkdomain.com

but the contacts have mysteriously changed.

So, BLHG management created two stock "investment" web sites to recommend their own stock. You're right, there ought to be a law and I think there is.
