Management

Jeffery S. Stone, Managing Director, founded Crescent Fund, Inc. in 1997. In addition to research and portfolio analysis, his duties include business evaluation, corporate development and institutional investor relations.
From 1991 to 1993, Mr. Stone was associated with Lehman Brothers where he was First Vice President and held a seat on the Chairman’s Council. His duties at Lehman were both on the institutional and retail sides of the equity markets. His responsibilities included portfolio management for high net-worth individuals and institutional clients. Mr. Stone was also a Senior Vice President with Prudential Securities and, in 1991, he was appointed to the Directors’ Council of the corporation. While at Prudential, his concentration lay upon small-capitalization and fixed income markets.

Mr. Stone received his B.A. in Economics from the University of Texas, Austin and is currently preparing for his M.B.A.



John P. Demoleas, Managing Partner, has over 20 years of corporate and not-for-profit financial management experience with extensive accomplishments in corporate board development.

Having attained joint MBA/MPH degrees from Columbia University and a BA from Fordham, Mr. Demoleas has most recently served as V.P. for Corporate Development for one of the nation’s largest children’s hospitals, and prior to that he was Executive Director and CEO of Saint Peter’s University Hospital Foundation, a position he held for 13 years. In that capacity he managed investment and endowment funds and has raised more than $150 million for major construction and renovation projects in support of Saint Peter’s University Hospital, a $500 million corporation with 3,500 employees.

Mr. Demoleas serves on numerous corporate and not-for-profit boards, including Ronald McDonald’s Children’s Charities, and has served as a special advisor to various board executive committees. He has founded two public companies, served as president and CEO of other companies and has successfully completed several mergers of those entities.

Mr. Demoleas brings to the Crescent Fund and its clients tremendous experience in corporate and board development.



Melanie Gee, President, Secretary, Director and General Legal Counsel, is responsible for financial and legal matters concerning the Company. Since 1995, she has served as a real estate attorney and specializes in institutional/commercial real estate transactions. Ms. Gee also participates in extensive contract negotiations, title reviews and the formation of corporations and partnerships. From 1988 to 1995, she served as a real estate and commercial litigation attorney at a number of legal firms.

Ms. Gee has numerous professional affiliations that include being admitted to The State Bar of Texas, The State Bar of Florida, The U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit, The U.S. Court of Appeals, District of Columbia Circuit, and The U.S. District Court, Northern District of Texas. She is a member of the Dallas Bar Association and the American Bar Association. Ms. Gee has been quite active in local charitable events including the House Party, the Slipper Club, the Evergreen Gala, Make-a-Wish Foundation and the Dallas Heart Ball.

Ms. Gee graduated Cum Laude with a B.B.A. from Southern Methodist University in 1985 and received a J.D. from the University of Florida, Gainesville in 1988.



John F. Fry serves as Vice President of Marketing and Communications. His duties include the production of business documentation, marketing materials and advertising. After 12 years in teaching and research at several institutions of higher learning, he entered advertising and was involved in project development at Bozell, Jacobs, Kenyon and Eckhardt and Tracy Locke. He was also Senior Editor of scientific publications at a number of North Texas firms.

Mr. Fry has a B.A. in Classics from the University of Texas, Austin, a M.A. in Comparative Literature from the University of Dallas and a Ph.D. from the American School of Classical Studies at Athens.



Sheldon S. Traube serves as Senior Analyst and Consultant to Crescent Fund. His principal concentration is generated research product for both firm and clientele. He additionally engages M & A services with an emphasis on the emerging growth sector.

During his 20 year tenure on Wall Street, Mr. Traube has maintained prominent positions such as Director of Investment Research, First Liberty Investment Group, Inc., M.H. Meyerson & Co., Bear Stearns, Thompson McKinnon Securities and Forbes.

Mr. Traube has many professional affiliations including The New York Society of Security Analysts, Financial Research Analysts Association and Financial Research Analysts Association and Financial Analysts Forum.

Mr. Traube holds an MBA in Finance and Investments from Baruch College and a BA in Psychology from Yeshiva University.



Eric A. Maas has joined Crescent Fund to assist in due diligence and corporate research with special emphasis in areas of mergers & acquisitions, marketing and communications. Mr. Maas comes to Crescent from Laurus Funds and NexGen Ventures, both hedge funds located in New York City. While at Laurus Funds, Mr. Maas was involved in researching private and public companies to determine if they fit criteria that would qualify them for asset based or equity funding. As a consultant at NexGen Ventures, Mr. Maas researched information on start up and micro-cap companies that were seeking funding.

Mr. Maas was educated at the College of Emporia, Emporia Kansas and the State University of Kentucky in Murray, Kentucky. His majors were in marketing and business administration.



Meagen Connelly brings progressive marketing and sales experience, most recently from the sports and entertainment industry. Directly responsible for remerchandising, advertising and coordinating competitive marketing applications, she was responsible for a 15% increase in sales in a mid-sized ($50 million) regional sports and entertainment company in the northeast in 2002.

A graduate of Rutgers University, Ms. Connelly brings to Crescent and our clients a myriad of documented accomplishments and hands-on marketing and sales experience.
