Ray,

Its starting to look like you're going to have lots of buying opportunities. My guess is that this was kicked off by Greenspan so that people with large gains will cash out and pay Cap Gain Taxes. This will be a big tax producer, which would never have developed without a "healthy" market correction. He is probably afraid that the cap gains tax rates will be reduced next year.
