NEW YORK, August 7 (Reuters) - The New York Times reported
the following business stories Friday:
* Just days after a serious flaw was revealed in two
popular e-mail programs, another troubling security weakness
has been discovered in Qualcomm Corp.'s Eudora, the most widely
used of e-mail software.
* United Healthcare UNH.N ignited an investor stampede in
health care stocks by saying it was taking a $900 million
charge in part to abandon unprofitable Medicare plans.
* Delta Air Lines DAL.N said it would add flights between
its Atlanta hub and the largest business markets along the U.S.
East Coast.
* A federal judge ordered Microsoft MSFT.O to turn over
to the U.S. Government the source code for its operating system
and make its chairman, Bill Gates and 16 other executives
available for pretrial depositions.
* Leaders of Volkswagen VOWG.F and BMW BMWG.F agreed to
carve up Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.
* GE Capital GE.N settled a suit for $100 million.
* Worldcom WCOM.O sold a record $6.1 billion in bonds.
* Sunbeam SOC.N said it might adjust its financial
results back to 1996.
