Multiactive Software Announces Development Plans for Award-Winning Entice! E-Business Solution
Plans Call for Cross-Platform Support of UNIX and Linux Servers as Well as Mobile Computing Integration
VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Jan. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Multiactive Software Inc. (Toronto: E - news), a leading provider of e-business front office solutions, announced today its plans to develop cross-platform support and mobile computing integration for its award-winning Entice!(TM) e-business solution. Entice!, Multiactive's flagship product, is a corporate enterprise solution that allows today's traditional business to easily implement Web site personalization and e-commerce functionality. Both development efforts are currently in progress and will be delivered to customers later this year.
The Entice! Server, which currently runs on Microsoft's Windows NT Server with Internet Information Server (IIS), will be able to operate on other platforms such as UNIX or Linux servers. This enhancement will allow organizations a greater selection in choosing the appropriate server for their business.
``Multiactive's mission has always been to develop software that is focused on our customers' needs,' says Brent Halverson, President, Multiactive Software. ``We want to provide our customers with a choice of platforms when they implement Entice!, and as a lot of the larger organizations are currently using a UNIX or Linux server, it makes perfect sense to develop Entice! to meet their needs.'
Entice! will also allow users to take advantage of the forthcoming advancements in mobile computing through support of the Wireless Application Protocol (WAP). In particular, users who currently use the Entice! One to One Designer to easily build personalized Web sites, can extend the functionality to pages viewed using their Internet-enabled wireless device. Other integration opportunities are also being explored.
``There will be over 600 million global, Internet-connected mobile users by 2003 according to Forrester Research and the Gartner Group,' says Halverson. ``Many of these users will be the customers of our Entice! customers. So, once again, this move comes down to delivering a customer-centric solution that keeps our customers on the forefront of the new economy.'
``The mobile computing market -- particularly in Asia and in Europe -- is on the verge of a global explosion,' said Terry Hui, Chairman, Multiactive Software. ``And with our existing global presence, Multiactive is well positioned to accelerate growth and capitalize on the changes that are taking place.'
