From the Inq on HP Fusion notebook:

HP announces an AMD Fusion notebook
Pavilion dm1 coming soonish

THE MAKER OF EXPENSIVE PRINTER INK, HP has announced a netbook at CES 2011 that will sport an AMD's Fusion Accelerated Processing Unit (APU).

No sooner had AMD announced details of its Fusion APU range than hardware manufacturers came out of the woodwork with Fusion-based products. Lenovo jumped AMD's gun yesterday with the Lenovo X120e notebook. But HP waited until today to come out with details of its mid-range HP Pavilion dm1 at CES 2011.

HP only gave out details at CES and hasn't actually sent any information out on the wire so we've found some tidbits for you at Wired and Engadget.

HP has posted some specifications of the Pavilion dm1, which will have an AMD dual-core 1.6GHz Vision E-350 APU, an AMD Radeon HD 6310M GPU, a 320GB hard drive and 3GB of memory as standard, though it will take up to 8GB.

At 3.5 pounds it is light and will have an 11.6-inch chassis with an LED-backlit 1366x768 display and HP reckons it'll last over nine hours on a 6-cell battery. For your wonga, HP will also include 3 USB 2.0 ports, a VGA port and an HDMI output.

HP has gone for an ultra-portable Macbook Air look, which it already knocks out with its very expensive Envy range. But the Pavilion dm1 is going to be much cheaper at $450 in the US. We tried HP's UK PR company for UK pricing and a launch date to no avail, so it might still be on holiday. µ
