Michael. I can only assumed you posted this information on the remarkably fast Ciprico Raid, because of the DST competition it provides. Previously I do not believe AXC considered themselves as competitors with RAIDs. With the completion of virtual disk software and the development of double densities they now probably are angling for a little of RAID dominated ground. The RAIDs are very quick to be sure, but they are also very very big and very very expensive.And , as best I understand it ( I am no expert), they do not shine in random access quite so brightly as in linear access. The DST's much smaller size and much cheaper price should allow the 810 to make inroads into what was previously multiterabyte RAID territory. I would sure welcome any comments from people more knowledgable in this industry than I.
