Hi Greg, can you post the major shareholders of YRI, and if their intersts have gone up or down in the past 6m. I heard ABX just did a JV in Peru. What are the chances of them doing a JV on another property with YRI other than in INDO.
Thanks jk
Jason: 1) There are no significant changes in the positions of our major shareholders over the past year or so. Barrick's remains the largest with about 13.2 %, followed by Noranda at 8.8% and Insiders at 8.2%. Insiders include especially management, and the board, but also virtually all Yamana employees, most of whom have options at various prices. Getting a detailed and up-to-date list of all investors is impossible, particularly for Canadian companies, but our surveys show that there are a number of listed funds still holding us including AGF, Robertson Stephens, 21st Century Digital, Dean Witter's Gold Fund, 20/20, and Scotia Investment. There are more but these are the main ones.
2) We are always alert to the possibility of doing a JV with any significant and credible player, including Barrick. These things are always delicate but I can say there is nothing new in the wind at the moment concerning them. We are at various stages of discussions with a number of other majors -- some being quite advanced -- and we have several property visits in South America lined up this month. I will, of course, let the market know if and when any new deal is struck.
I hope this helps.
