Terry-- You bet they are. But you don't see yourself in their mirror? Look. I have a high-octane education, and my work, so to speak, is scholarship. By nature and training I'm elitist. But when I visit the States I'm constantly amazed by the diversity of opinion that I discover among people on all levels of society. People aren't stupid simply because they're uneducated, and certainly not because they don't agree with you. Sure, there are a lot of idiots out there, but the situation isn't helped along by the sort of demagoguery that the articles you've posted here espouse. "Can a few be right, and the world wrong?"
