Since we're speculating, I've been thinking along these lines:
It could be a major telecom or cellular provider (Lucent, Motorola, Nokia, etc.). I think some of them are already using Java.
It could also be a major (probably Japanese or Korean) consumer electronics company (e.g. Sony, Matsushita, Samsung). I actually think this is the most likely group, since such companies are probably looking for innovative ways to invigorate their products.
A third category could be an auto manufacturer (Ford, GM, Chrysler, Honda, Toyota, Nissan, etc.). "Car of the future" type stuff.
Of course, this is rank speculation -- I have no real information.
